Build Guide

From place to printable model

Search for your place of interest.Try examples like The Strait of Gibraltar, Hormuz, Taiwan Strait, or Kwajalein.
Select the terrain you want to print.Use Rectangle, Centered, or Circle to frame the underwater terrain.
Compute statistics.Review depths and heights before you choose scaling factors.
Scale above and below the waterline.Emphasize underwater terrain without letting nearby land dominate the model.
Apply depth or height cutoffs.Clamp extreme values when deep water or tall terrain overwhelms the shape.
Build and preview.Start with downsampling on, then inspect the wood, colored, or textured preview.
Finalize detail.If the scaling looks right, rebuild with Downsample turned off for maximum terrain detail.
